The Belize Zoo is home to exotic animals with 28 acres of tropical savanna located 29 ¾ mils west of Belize City. It was established in 1983 and is now home to over 126 animals that are all indigenous to Belize. What makes this zoo different from most zoos is that the animals have not been imported from different parts of the world and that they are kept in a natural vegetated environment, making the animals feel as if there are in there natural habitat.
